MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - The Pacific Tigers women's volleyball team fell, 3-1, to Virginia Commonwealth on Friday, Aug. 26 in the opening match of the Marquette Kick-off Classic. Game scores for the match were, 30-16, 20-30, 30-27, 30-23. The loss dropped Pacific to 0-1 on the season, while the Rams moved to 1-0.
After dropping game one, 30-16, Pacific fought back in game two, tallying 20 kills and committing just five errors to even the match at one game by the score of 30-20. The Tigers hit .405 in the game.
Virginia Commonwealth, however, was able to pull out the final two games to take the match 3-1.
Pacific will be back in action on Saturday, Aug. 27 as the Tigers play their final two matches of the Marquette Kick-Off Classic. Pacific will face North Dakota State at 10:30 a.m. (CT), then will face host Marquette at 7 p.m. (CT).
